Give Back in a “Big” Way
Kids today need mentors more than ever. Single parents work long hours to make ends meet. Grandparents may be primary caregivers. It can be hard to find time and resources for outside activities.
That’s where you can make a difference.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County matches adult volunteers (“Bigs”) with kids aged 6 to 18 (“Littles”). Our goal is to help foster positive relationships that have a lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Typically, Bigs and Littles get together 2 to 4 days per month to enjoy activities such as making art, tossing a football, hiking, playing board games, fishing, bowling, cooking, going to the movies, or riding bikes.
Volunteers will tell you that the simplest activities are often the most meaningful – taking a walk, talking about the school day, sharing a laugh.
All relationships are supported by a staff of professional case managers along with parents and caregivers. Our mission is to support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth.
We rely on volunteers like you to continue this important work. Please reach out to learn how to get started.
Support programs and services that change lives.
